Hello there, this is Bill Everatt, with news about the Celtica Radio Underground Edition, On-Line and Podcased for February 2009.
In this months show;
My special guest is Dan Crisp, and in Urban Legends, we hear the story of the Gypsy’s Curse. Also who said this? “Advertising may be described as the science of arresting the human intelligence long enough to get money from it.” Andrew John is back with a sideways look at the news… This month Andy looks at stories featuring US President Obama, of course! The recession, asks why we didn’t bail out Woolworth’s, and “shocking kebabs”.
Now last month, we were giving away, courtesy of Network DVD, the complete Boxed Set on DVD, that’s the entire series one to six, of 3rd Rock from the Sun. And our “who said this” featured a mystery author. The question was: “Many a small thing has been made large by the right kind of advertising.” I also gave out a clue in as much as this person wrote a book called A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court. The answer was Mark Twain the US humorist, novelist, short story author, & wit. We had a goodly amount of e-mails for the competition, but ultimately there can be only one winner, so congratulations to Paul Moore of Kenton in Harrow, London. We’ll get that out in the post to you.
And if you would like to get your hands on more DVD Givaways courtesy of Network DVD and Celtica Radio, just go to our Competition page on the Celtica Radio Website, you’ll find in the Interactive Section.
Music wise, we’ve got some great new tracks in this month’s programme from; Indy Clark, Papashake, Ockhams Raiser, Rory Flynn, Laurel Wiley, Red i and Hilary Weaver.

May I offer you a belated Happy New Year. It seems a bit strange to say that when we are already at the end of January, but I do have a reason. As I have said before I’ve been having treatment for cancer and I’ve just finished the radiotherapy so I feel that I have now entered a new year.
Since I was diagnosed last August I have done a lot of thinking about life and its meaning and I have come to the conclusion that life is far too short for all of the petty squabbles that we seem to get into. Even with the economic crisis that the world is facing at the moment life is still wonderful, and no I am not looking at it through rose-tinted glasses, the physical world is beautiful. Have you had a look out of your window at God’s wonderful creation today? It might be freezing cold and wet and miserable but look at the birds, do they worry about the economy? No, they live every day as if it were their last and we should do the same. Forget all of the petty worries of this life and think about the life to come - the life promised to all who believe in God the Father through his Son Jesus Christ. Want to know more? Then why don’t you go to your local Church or Alpha Course and sign up for everlasting life in those heavenly spaces promised to you. See you there.
