Bill Everatt, with the June 22nd update of the Underground Edition

Hello again, this is Bill Everatt, with news about the June 22nd update of the Underground Edition.

In this weeks show, my special guest is the singer songwriter Starsky.

Andrew John reports about the people of Little Bibbling Under Flossock where the President is visiting as part of what is thought to be his last tour of these parts before the election in November, which will lead to a change of president next January, when someone else will sit in that oddly-shaped office to wield so much influence.  What is worrying is that the village corpse Mr Florin, is voting.

In Urban Legends we hear the story of The Phantom Legion.

This week, Celtica Radio is eight years old, so we thought that this weeks’ who said this, should mark the occasion.

As some of you may know, and you can find more information on this on the About Us page on our website, if it wasn’t for the passion and vision of David A Cook, [that’s Cooky to everyone else] Celtica Radio would not exist. Cooky gambled a significant chunk of his gratuity from around 25 years service in the Royal Air Force, to fund this station. Of course Cooky was not the only person to help create Celtica Radio, and it would be wrong to suggest otherwise. But as our Founding Director, he did singlehandedly finance it, and that required significant guts!

And the reason he did it was because Celtica Radio has been, and still is, constructively and spitefully excluded from mainstream radio by much of the UK broadcasting industry, its companies, institutions and individuals, but our continued existence is down to this quotation…

“Usually when people are sad, they don’t do anything. They just cry over their condition. But when they get angry, they bring about a change.” Now who do you think said that? “Usually when people are sad, they don’t do anything. They just cry over their condition. But when they get angry, they bring about a change.” Strong words, and confirmation as to just how determined we are to realise our goal.

So well done to us all, past and present, and particular tribute goes to Cooky, who stood by us when almost everybody else wrote us off.

Music wise, this week, we’ve got some great artists on the programme including; FIL, Zoe McCulloch, Ludicrous Liquorice, And Did Those Feet, Paul Ibberson, Moon Medicine and Kali-Mist.
