Hi Tom, Sorry I haven't responded before but I have been away for nearly a month.

I agree with what you say. Love for another person is probably one of the greatest things in this life. All relationships, whether it is marriage or just friendships, have to be worked at. Trust, benefit of the doubt, and friendship are vital ingredients in any successful marriage.

The trouble is society today doesn't seem to be able to trust anyone - it's self, self, self! We have become a very selfish society and I think that it has contributed "big time" to the state of the UK today. There is no respect for others or even property, it's purely ME, ME, ME!

Thanks for your thoughts.

I agree with what you said about a good marriage. My mother and father have been married for 46 years. To this day they respect each other and are the best of friends. There love for one another is still as strong as ever. They also have a true affection for each other as well myself and my brothers and sisters. A great love can only be built over time. You also have to be able to give each other the benefit of the doubt. An unyielding and absolute trust. Love can happen, and when it does, hold onto it as tightly as you can. Peace and waves, Tom
